Spring Planter Fever

The pandemic has given us all time to self-reflect and it is clear that we need to prioritize creating a space of peace and serenity to turn to after a long, stressful day. It is necessary to be in an environment where we can take a deep breath and feel ultimate relaxation, especially if we’re isolated, or work from home. Now more than ever, mental health and happiness are being prioritized, and optimizing your space can make a huge difference in your overall well-being.

With Spring right around the corner, people can begin to shift their focus onto outdoor decor and design. What better way to start off the season than to step outside into your own lush, green oasis? Inviting outdoor spaces is an excellent source of calm and joy. We will be exploring a few popular outdoor decor trends of 2022. Get ready to ditch those heavy winter coats, step outside into the fresh air, and soak up those warm rays of sunshine!

Spring is a season where nature is reborn, plants begin to sprout, flowers bloom, and animals come out of hibernation. Life starts to burst with activity again! Mother Nature rules all, and that’s why the first trend we are focusing on is eco-friendly, nature-conscious outdoor spaces. Rewilding, low carbon, natural material gardens are slowly but surely on the rise. Locally sourced materials, plants, and products help to support smaller businesses. Natural materials create sustainability. Letting nature run its course promotes a low maintenance atmosphere- practical for the environment and for the person who doesn’t have time to tend to their garden!

An outdoor area where the intent of the design is to be au natural is the kind of space where our bamboo outdoor planters fit in just beautifully. These woven bamboo baskets are charming and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Made with natural bamboo and reinforced with an interior made of fiber cement, these outdoor planters are non-toxic and can seamlessly blend in with the natural landscape.

Unfortunately, not everyone owns large outdoor spaces. Folks who live in the city understand the importance of the idea, less is more, and that using balcony space wisely is important. Luckily, there are endless balcony trends that help optimize outdoor decor. This one's for you, city-goers. Hanging planters like the Patt and Eileen collection are practical for those with limited space and trailing plants look killer in these fiber cement planters! Vertical garden planters or green walls add a splash of earthiness. Wall planters, like our Wally collection, take up minimal space without sacrificing style. Avoiding large floor planters really helps to free up the area for better use, such as a piece or two of narrow garden furniture. You can still achieve an enjoyable atmosphere with a small space, so long as you do it methodically.

During those warm Spring and Summer months, people naturally want to be outside. It’s inviting, invigorating and refreshing. The trend of creating an extension from indoors to outdoors simply makes sense! Outdoor designs with bars, kitchens, dining areas, and porches are more in demand. People want to entertain their friends and family without being constricted to the indoors. Just like people use indoor planters as part of their decor, outdoor planters, dishes, and toppers help to liven up the overall design and will provide a nurturing space for plants of all species. The Cambridge collection and its modest cylinder shape pair well with trees, flowers, bushes, and shrubs. Our Cody fiberstone planters are also a modern and contemporary choice for placement among the outdoor decor. They look exceptionally gorgeous on front porches! The Carlos rectangular planters are ideal for those looking to create division between spaces, or for a larger quantity of plants and greens. Mix a few planters, accent decor, and weather-friendly furniture to create a recipe for the ultimate hangout spot!

Spending time outdoors is a great escape from the craziness of everyday life and it contributes to our overall well-being more than we realize. Our outdoor planters are just one piece of the puzzle, but when combined with a vision and some determination, they help to create a beautiful oasis, whether it's modern and chic, natural and earthy or everything in between! There are endless possibilities for outdoor landscapes- what will you dream up?
