What's In a Name?

What's in A Name?

Here at Vasesource, we get very excited when the mention of a new item is being brought in. Like many companies, we take the time to look over our pieces and think of names for new collections and items. We recently got in new candelabras and trumpets, all named after cities and places in Europe. But how did we match the name to the piece? Some were easy and others required a lot of thought.

For one of our new pieces, Barcelona was the first place that came to mind when first seeing this item.

(CODE NAME: BARCELONA-SV)

Look at the bends in necks of this piece. The unique shape and wave had me nostalgic for Barcelona because it looks like a piece done by the architect, Antoni Gaudí. If you have ever been to Barcelona, you probably have seen his work all over the city. Below are a few examples.

If you look closely at all of these images, you'll find a unique wave or bend in the architect of each site. It's because of these unique shapes that we came up with the name BARCELONA. This candelabra would fit nicely in the city for a destination wedding or event.

One of the new candelabras needed a little more consideration for its name because of its simple elegance.

(CODE NAME: VERSAILLES-GD)

Our VERSAILLES candelabra comes in gold and silver, but it is its gold color that had resembled royalty and castles. This candelabra looks like a piece that belongs in a palace. Below you'll find a few images of what the real Versailles looks like.

Absolutely beautiful and dripping in gold. VERSAILLES, the candelabra, would have fit nicely at a table or stand in this breathtaking place. For an event that has an elegant theme to it, we would recommend this piece.
