Valentine's Day is the busiest holiday of the year for flower shops all across America. Fresh-cut flowers are among the top Valentine's Day gifts given, with an estimated 250 million roses produced on average every February 14th. Although red roses account for 64% of the flowers purchased, plants and mixed floral arrangements make up a large percentage of Valentine's Day gifts as well.

Consumers are spending more and more every Valentine's Day, making the holiday only second in money spent to Christmas/Hanukah. While men usually purchase blooms for their spouses/significant others, studies show that women buy bouquets for their mothers, children, friends, and even themselves. It's no wonder that flower and plant sales are expected to continue to climb this Valentine's Day.

Although many millennials have opted out of celebrating Valentine's Day, data reveals that they still purchase flowers for their loved ones. Florists can expect an abundance of orders to pour in the days leading up to February 14th.

Flower shops all over prepare for the holiday of love by stocking up on fresh-cut florals like roses, houseplants, succulents, and beautiful vases to dress-up arrangements and greenery. To meet the high demands of this busy holiday, florists will need to purchase flowers, plants, and vases in bulk well in advance.

Black and white ceramic vases pair well with blooms and plants without taking away from their natural beauty. Low round vases are a lovely addition to home decor and will easily complement the succulents and beautiful orchids consumers will be purchasing on Valentine's Day.

Glass vases like the Seneca collection add an elegant essence to floral arrangements and can be the perfect accent pieces for nightstands, coffee tables, and desks. Whether ceramic or glass, flower shops will need plenty of vases on hand to fill the mass amount of orders they will receive.
